Visual metamorphosis can be seen in the work of some artists to represent change in both the shape and meaning of an image. MC Esher developed the striking impossible images which defy reality. Salvador Dali produced surreal images. Micheal James produces quilt designs that involve the metamorphosis of geometric shapes.
